25 Feb Traje De Flamenca
I’ve once seen a flamenco performance in an event I went to and I was so moved and awestruck that I had to create something out of that experience. The Bolo bag is probably the most eccentric yet alluring item I have designed so far. First, it catches your attention with its shape like a rhythm of a cante. You are then taken back by its charm and exceptional functionality & durability as would the lyrics of a timeless classic.
But what locks you in is its endearing promise to care for the hands that made it and for the earth where it came from. Such is the moment when one witnesses a bailaoras’s grace and passionate execution of the song’s story.

A typical flamenco dress would be something bold that invites movement. The idea of incorporating it into street wear was somehow magical for me. Taking my earth-toned cotton long skirt and pairing it with my bright cropped top, I set out and strut the pavements of the resort while breathing in and imagining the waves in Andalucia. To make it interesting, I slipped into my suede boots which brings the ensemble into the present times. Nothing else could transcend the entire look into spring/summer but mi favorita, the Bolo bag.
Would you think about incorporating a rich cultural performance into your everyday outfit? Tell me more about it while I live my gypsy life.
